The Barton Community College Music Department will host auditions for its holiday musical, the Charles Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol,” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 and 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8 for adults.  There will be a separate audition for children only on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m.  Actors of all ages are encouraged to audition.  The total cast number will be around 35.

The production dates are set for November 21, 22 and 23 on the Barton Fine Arts stage. This show is an addition to the regularly scheduled theatre season at Barton and will be produced by the Music Department of the college.  Barton’s Director of Chorale Activities Vern Fryberger will be in charge of stage and music direction.

This musical adaptation of the Dickens’ tale written by Richard Hellesen and featuring music by David de Berry, draws the audience into the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, whose foul disposition is transformed as he is haunted by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
