Our program includes courses in anatomy/physiology, biology, botany, environmental science, microbiology, pathophysiology, and zoology. The program provides mini-research experiences in labs and 3-D visualizations of the human body using an Anatomage Table. Barton STEM Club is open to all students interested in science, mathematics, technology and/or engineering. Barton Community College's Biology curriculum is designed to provide the general education requirement and core Biology courses for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in Biology. In addition to general education courses like Principles of Biology and Anatomy and Physiology, we offer a variety of electives including Microbiology, Zoology, and Botany. Electives must meet the requirements of the transfer institution. Students should coordinate with their advisor for transfer requirements.
Upon completion of Barton Community College's Biology program, our students will be able to:
